This project was executed along A4 motorway section 42 km long in consortium with Strabag AG.

The scope of works executed by Mota-Engil comprised as follows:
Demolition of 47 bridge structures including 23 structures along each carriageway of motorway route and one viaduct over motorway route,
Construction of 44 engineering structures along motorway route – 22 for each carriageway with parameters of loading capacity of “A” class
Reparation of 17 viaducts over motorway route.

Works were conducted in two stages. Demolition works and construction of new engineering structures in each motorway carriageways were executed under two-way traffic in opposite open carriageway. Such schedule of works resulted in usage of walls made of steel sheet piles connected in the median and anchored alternatively in one or second construction in a few levels of anchoring in order to ensure stability of embankments under open carriageway. Anchoring was executed with ground and mechanical anchors with usage of 1000 tones of steel sheet piles.

Ground conditions resulted in foundation of 30 structures (15 on each carriageway) on the large diameters piles ø1200 mm drilled in holder pipes 8 to 20 m long.  

Bridge structures were finished with bituminous SMA pavement on course of hard-cast asphalt. Carriageway 11.50 m wide is marked off by concrete pavements with steel railing and energy-consuming barriers.
