Underground parking under Powstańców Warszawy Square with construction permission

A new parking lot in the center of the capital is getting closer. IMMO PARK Warsaw, a company owned by Mota-Engil Central Europe, has received a valid building permit, and on August 2 the property was handed over to the contractor to begin construction work. The facility will be built under the concession formula, which is a type of public-private partnership.

Under the first agreement of this type in Poland, the concessionaire, the IMMO Park Warsaw Company, will fully finance the investment costs and operate the parking facility for 36 years. After that time, the parking lot will be transferred to the City free of charge. The estimated total value of the project is approximately PLN 85 million gross.

The concessionaire will begin work on translating the city's networks, as part of the removal of collisions with the investment, as early as August this year. Once the network relocation work is completed, essential work on the construction of the parking lot will begin.

- As Mota-Engil Central Europe, we are one of the pioneers in the implementation of investments under the private-public partnership formula. In this format, we have built a parking lot under the Nowy Targ square in Wroclaw, and our portfolio also includes PPP agreements for the construction and operation of parking lots in Gdansk and Lodz, says Marcin Podlecki, member of the board of IMMO Park Warsaw. - Today we are taking delivery of the site, and thus begin the next stage of the underground parking under Powstańców Warszawy Square. We would like to thank all the people from the City of Warsaw for their involvement. With this project we prove that local governments can successfully cooperate with entrepreneurs. I am sure that a functioning 24-hour facility will perfectly fit into the urban fabric of the capital, as well as tidy up the issue of parking in this important area of the Capital. It will be an investment that will be friendly to both the city's residents and others who park in the center," adds Marcin Podlecki.

The facility, which is expected to begin operation in late 2024/early 2025, is a 4-story underground parking garage with 420 parking spaces. As part of the construction, IMMO PARK Warsaw will also carry out the so-called first stage of revitalization of pl. Powstańców Warszawy, in accordance with the guidelines of the Charrette workshop organized and coordinated by the City of Warsaw, in conjunction with the revitalized pl. Pięciu Rogów and the implementation of the project titled New Center of Warsaw (revitalization of the area of Chmielna Street, Zgody Street and Złota Street, among others). Construction of the parking lot is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
