It was symbolic to drive a shovel into the ground. With this gesture, we started the construction of the Tomaszów Lubelski ring road. The road is being built as part of the S17 expressway. In this event special guest was Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk. The Tomaszów Lubelski ring road, approximately 9.6 km long, is created in the "Design and Build" system. The contract was signed in November 2017. Completion of the construction in accordance with the Agreement is planned for mid-2021.
The ring road will run on the eastern side of the city. At the intersection with voivodship road No. 850, the Tomaszów Lubelski Północ node will be built, and the Tomaszów Lubelski Południe node will be connected to DK17. The investment includes the construction of a single-carriageway (dual carriageway on two junctions) and a flyover over the valley of the Sołokija river. Also, 14 km of local roads will be built to support local traffic.
The Tomaszów Lubelski ring road will be part of the S17 expressway, leading from Warsaw through Lublin, Zamość up to the border crossing in Hrebenne.
