Miękinia bypass available for drivers

• Investment in the "design and build" system
• 4 km single-way road - technical class G
• Innovative technologies: pushing of the superstructure to its final location under the active railway line No. 275 Muchobór-Gubinek
• Complex soil and water conditions
• Delivery time: 33 months
• Increased transport accessibility of the Region

Mota-Engil Central Europe in a consortium with Himmel and Papesch Opole, completed the construction of the Miękinia bypass. The road is a connection between the bridge over the Odra River in Brzeg Dolny and the national road No. 94 in Błonie and the provincial road No. 340.

As part of the task, the provincial road was built, two poviat roads were rebuilt, 2 road engineering facilities, 1 railway structure in reinforced concrete technology, 24 corrugated metal culverts, 15 access roads for local traffic and 4 acoustic earth shafts ware build. The built route bypasses Miękinia from the east.

- As part of the investment, the bridge was constructed using transverse incremental launching technology. An unquestionable advantage of this solution is the fact, that it will shorten to a minimum the time of obstruction in railway traffic during construction works. This is extremely important on lines with heavy traffic. That's how it was in this case - the tunnel was built under the very important E30 railway line - says Pedro Januario, a member of the Management Board of Mota-Engil Central Europe. - It is a very modern technology, fortunately more and more popular in Poland.
