About the competition
The main idea of the Bridge Contest is to promote Polish engineering design thought and to honour the most significant objects put into service. The first edition of the competition took place in 2009. The contest is held under the honorary patronage of the Association of Bridge Engineers of the Republic of Poland. The awards recognise innovation in engineering design and are entirely non-commercial in nature. For this reason, the jury is composed of experts recognised in the bridge industry, including such authorities as: Prof. Kazimierz Flaga, D.Sc. WSOWL and UZ, prof. dr hab. inż. Wojciech Radomski.

An impressive flyover
Flyover is part of the S7 expressway and runs over the railway line No. 8 Warszawa Zachodnia - Kraków Główny, the Szreniawa river and district roads Nos. 1207K and 1208K. The total length of the structure is 711.46 m on the right-hand carriageway and 704.04 m on the left-hand carriageway. The structure was executed using the longitudinal slide technology. Work on the construction of the structure began in autumn 2019. The Contractor's determination, the high commitment of qualified people working in two shifts and close cooperation with proven and experienced subcontracting companies made it possible to complete an impressive flyover in less than 2 years, which beautifully fits into the surroundings and attracts the attention of passers-by with its appearance.
