On September 17, the official opening of the new dormitory of the University of Warsaw took place. With the start of the academic year, more than 380 people—students and university staff—will reside in the building, which has a total area of nearly 13,000 square meters.
The new dormitory building was constructed in Warsaw's Służew district at 4 Sulimy Street. The facility consists of eight floors: seven above ground and one underground, which houses parking spaces and technical rooms. On the individual floors, in addition to the residential areas, there are also attractive common areas such as equipped kitchens, a lounge, quiet study rooms, a laundry, and an exercise room. Outside the building, there is a sports field, bike storage, and park paths.
As part of the contract, MECE was also responsible for the finishing and furnishing of the rooms as well as the landscaping, including small architectural elements.
The building and its surroundings are fully accessible to people with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments. Each floor has at least one room with a kitchenette adapted for wheelchair users.
