Contract signing for underground parking in Warsaw in the PPP formula

Mota-Engil signed a contract with Warsaw for the design and construction of a modern underground car park under the Powstańców Warszawy Square. The facility will be built in the form of a concession, which is a kind of public-private partnership. The built car park will be the city's property, but our company will manage the car park for 40 years.

- Mota-Engil Central Europe is an experienced investor and contractor on the Polish market not only in the field of building parking lots, but above all one of the pioneers in the implementation of such investments in the formula of public-private partnership. As one of the first we implemented a PPP formula which is a car park under Nowy Targ Square in Wrocław. Our portfolio also includes an agreement with the City of Gdańsk for the construction and operation of multi-storey car parks. - says Marcin Podlecki, member of the board of IMMO Park Warszawa Sp. z o.o. Warsaw also has great potential for further parking locations in this formula. In our opinion, public-private partnership projects are the future of local governments, which, after limiting the inflow of European Union funds, will look for new sources of financing for their investments - he adds.

Agreement between the Capital City of Warsaw Warsaw and Immo Park Warszawa Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Mota-Engil will bind the parties with a concession granted for 40 years. During the first 48 months, as a concessionaire, we will design and then build a four-storey car park, for 420 parking spaces, under Powstańców Warszawy Square. The car park will be designed and built exclusively with our funds. This is the first underground parking agreement of this type in Poland.

The facility with 420 parking spaces, which will start operating in 2024, will be equipped with chargers for electric cars, as well as a public toilet. Bicycle racks will be mounted on the surface of the square.
