On Friday, December 15, 2023, a conditional agreement for the sale of 100% of the shares of Mota-Engil Central Europe S.A. was signed. The agreement was concluded between the current owner, the Mota-Engil Group, and the Hungarian company Duna Aszfalt Ztr. The final sales agreement is likely to be signed in the second quarter of 2024.
Under the signed agreement, the new owner of Mota-Engil Central Europe S.A. will be the Duna Aszfalt Group, a leader in the engineering and road construction sector in Hungary. Along with the construction activities of MECE, the owner will also undergo changes in MEREM, a part of company responsible for the development segment. The group of companies involved in PPP projects (MECE will remain their General Contractor), as well as ME Renewing and ME Ativ, will remain within the Mota-Engil group.
According to the earlier plans, MECE will fulfill signed contracts, actively engage in acquiring new ones, continue mining operations in the Górka Sobocka mine, develop the Bituminous Mix Plant and equipment base, and implement investment and modernization plans.
Both in the infrastructure and development sectors, MECE continue to implement the adopted strategy.
