Completion of works on the slide of the flyover's supporting structure in the section S7 Szczepanowice-Widoma

Today, Mota-Engil Central Europe has completed the works on the overpass on the section S7 Szczepanowice-Widoma. It is the longest engineering facility of this 13-kilometre-long section, built in Małopolska.

The nearly 700-meter high flyover is the main bridge element of the road. It will enable to pass over the railroad line, county roads and the Szreniawa River. In a few months, a total of 28 supports were completed, which were placed on driven prefabricated reinforced concrete piles with a total length of about 16 km. The maximum height of some pillars reaches even 13,75 m.  The object was designed as a thirteen-span compressed single-chamber box system. The maximum span of the bay is 57.5 m, the road's topping out and its location within the object allowed for the realization of the flyover's supporting structure in the longitudinal slide-in technology. In just 8.5 months, a total of 1370.73 mb of the supporting structure was completed. The total length of the overhang structure is 681.43 m for the left-hand roadway and 689.30 m for the right-hand roadway.  During the construction of the flyover, 25500 m3 of concrete was used, 4300 is reinforcement steel and 743 tons of prestressing steel. Each of the structures was divided into 25 segments and their realization starting from stage 4 of the segment was carried out in weekly cycles. Next, the Contractor will replace the slide bearings with the target ones and compress the structure with external cables.
