Reconstruction of the viaduct over the railway line in Strzelin with access roads

Description

The reconstructed section is 488.75 m long, designed lanes are 7.0 m wide, with rubble strips on both sides of the width of 2 x 0.5 m. The width of sidewalks is 2.0 m – 2.5 m. Near the transformer station, in order to avoid clashes, a retaining wall was designed. Due to the fact that the designed viaduct is located in the close vicinity of the existing viaduct, the conflict with existing buildings on the left side of the road was avoided. The intersection with ul. Borowska is designed as a channelized intersection. On the national road No. 39, there is a separate lane for vehicles turning into ul. Borowska. Bends of the road axis are rounded with horizontal curves, of a radius of the length of at least 380 m, which guarantee the transverse camber on the whole route, without the necessity to use transition curves. Within the area of a viaduct, the vertical alignment was raised by 70 cm in relation to the existing one. The longitudinal gradient of the road is between 0.3% - 3%.

With regard to the new viaduct, the design assumes the construction of the arch structure with a crossing under the bridge, with a steel framing, joint with the reinforced concrete top slab. This type of structure allow for crossing the railway with one span of the length of 35 m. The slant angle (of the axis of the structure towards the railway line) is 70º.
