S19 Janów Lubelski section is now available for drivers

The bypass of Janów Lubelski is now open to traffic. Today we provided access to a 7-kilometre section, executed for the Lublin Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Highways.

The task involved the design and construction of an almost 7-km section - part of the S19 Lublin-Rzeszów expressway, constituting a bypass around the town of Janów Lubelski (the "Kopce" junction, currently "Janów Lub. Północ" junction - "Jonaki" junction, currently "Janów Lub. Południe" interchange), together with the reconstruction of roads of other categories, reconstruction and construction of the land development network, obtaining a decision on the occupancy permit and commissioning of the S-19 expressway, all other roads and engineering structures. As part of the investment, 5 bridges and two Rest Areas located in Janów Lubelski on the right and on the left were built.  The section is located in Lubelskie Voivodeship in Janów County, in the area of Modliborzyce and Janów Lubelski Communes.

In order to build the 7-km section of the expressway, it was first necessary to remove collisions with the existing infrastructure. Among others, the high voltage 110kV line, low and medium voltage lines, telecommunication networks and wc DN200 gas pipeline were rebuilt. The necessary accompanying infrastructure in the area of sanitary, teletechnical, electric-energy, melioration and the most technologically advanced Traffic Management Systems was executed.

To build the road, 85 thousand Mg of natural aggregate, 155 thousand Mg of crushed stone aggregate, 400 thousand m2 of stabilisation, 8,300 m3 of concrete, 740 t of reinforcing steel, tens of thousands of bituminous masses (base course 70 thousand Mg, binder course 60 thousand Mg, wearing course 10 thousand Mg) were used. 520 thousand cubic metres of excavations were made, from which 500 thousand cubic metres of embankments were built, and combined with 5 large engineering structures and several environmental culverts laid under the road, they gave 7 km of road, on which drivers will be able to travel safely at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
